World Cup final in Gothenburg: World class! Alamo and a brilliant Steve triumph at the top of the podium and the equestrian world!
Extraordinary, unbelievable, sometimes overwhelming, this 41st finale of the World Cup in show jumping was a unique event with great excitement and Hitchcock moments.
To achieve this third World Cup title, which forms part of a his palmares with numerous great successes now, Steve once again proved his great precision and victory qualities, which were absolutely needed until jumping the very last obstacle and to be able to win this third act of the World Cup final, which was still open until the very end.
After Steve and Alamo had won the jumping competition on Thursday evening and had to accept 4 points in the 2nd act of the finals on Friday, they could not afford any more mistakes at the Grand Prix on Sunday to be able to ride to the title.
This was achieved with two fantastic clear rounds and the victory in final no. 3, which led our favourite and to the delight of the 12000 spectators to a fantastic overall victory, which Steve won with great fighting spirit ahead of his friend Martin Fuchs and the Swedish European Champion Peder Fredericson!
