World Equestrian Games in Tryon: Simone Blum and two Swiss on the podium - that's historic!

The 29-year-old German from Bavaria and her brilliant mare Alice are world champion, and Martin Fuchs wins silver and Steve Guerdat bronze. The first two Swiss medals in show jumping in the history of the World Equestrian Games!

For me it was a dream to win a team medal, it is a dream that came true now, and it’s also a dream to be at the start on Sunday in the individuals finals. That I am in first position is unreal for me, but we have to more difficult rounds ahead. So I think we have to stay focused, but my mare is jumping amazing here", said Simone Blum only 48 hours before the final. And she was able to resist the pressure and won with her ingenious eleven-year-old mare Alice DSP.
And the two Swiss riders as well handled the pressure, and even better, they showed outstanding performances from start to finish. World Championship Silver for Martin Fuchs, securing a great second round with Clooney (2 points), and World Championship bronze for Steve Guerdat, who was the only one with a perfect double clear round that day with Bianca.
