Team Final: Switzerland finish on the 6th place

Surely they deserved a medal ... at least in the homogeneity as a team, because all four Swiss riders qualified for the individual finals on Friday – and only the Germans did as well, so that is to be expected that Ludger Beerbaum would have to follow the final as supernumerary fourth as a spectator from the stands - and have finished the three qualifying jumping rounds with an identical total of 9 points! Since all four are equal on points, the Chef d'Equipe and the team need to take a decision, as the IOC only allows a maximum of three finalists by nation in any sport.

When entering the course today Steve Guerdat was twice under pressure, as on one hand there was a very minimal chance for a medal, but secondly he had to focus on his own qualification for the individual final.
