This weekend saw one of the most prestigious equestrian events in the world, and Steve experienced a true rollercoaster of emotions.
After a solid start from Venard de Cerisy on the first day of the Trophée de Genève (4 penalty points in the jump-off and 12th place), Steve accumulated two more 4-point penalties in the Top-10 Final on Friday with his horse Albfuehren’s Iashin Sitte, finishing in 9th place.
On Saturday, while Dynamix de Belhême completed a warm-up round in preparation for the big Grand Prix on Sunday, Steve lit up the Palexpo Arena with Venard de Cerisy and claimed his 15th major victory in Geneva.
Unfortunately, the Grand Prix on Sunday didn’t go as planned. Dynamix retired after a third fault, an unusual decision for the normally reliable horse. It seemed that on this cold Sunday, Dynamix was not in peak form.
The focus now shifts to the next major event: the London Horse Show next weekend.
